There are three well known Togaf Accredited training course providers: Enterprise Architects, iCMG and CC and C Solutions.

It is important to understand concepts of Togaf before certification

Self study route is clumsy. I have had students who were TOGAF certified mostly by self-study and some amount of guidance within their organization. They attended my class room course post certification because they realized that their knowledge was not usable just by achieving the Certification.

So we should first Learn and understand TOGAF and then certify. Complete understanding is not possible in short time but Accredited Training course will create the right perspective and pointers to every module of TOGAF

Who can Teach TOGAF

Only a Togaf Accredited training course (TATC) approved from Open Group is authorized to conduct Togaf training.
Without license and accreditation from The Open Group, no one can teach TOGAF®.
We hear about many people and organizations who are providing TOGAF® training without any commercial license and accreditation. They would be opening themselves up to trouble (possible legal action) with such activity.  Such courses are typically of very poor quality. 
Please let your colleagues/friends know of this and let them not get cheated by some illegal training provider in the name of saving a few thousand rupees.

Togaf Certification is not that difficult

Enterprise Architecture framework is now being studied as “TOGAF”. Open group is a consortium of fortune 300 organizations. It provided a non-selling platform to prospective customer (Insurance, Banking, Telecom) and service providers (e.g. IBM, HP, Capgemini) to collaborate and create best practices, principles and guidelines to do business and utilize capability of IT to fulfill service needs.

The course consists of multiple dimensions. It is not possible to bind understanding of entire subject as a combined whole with Self-study. Experienced trainer is required to clear points with specific examples to demystify the subject matter. Once the Accredited Trainer has taken participants through the entire course and conducted mock exam then the candidate knows exactly how much effort they need to put on which area of the content. This speeds up the certification preparation. One can easily achieve certification in one month time with the four days training.

How to get Togaf Certified

There is a 100% growth in professionals certifying on Togaf. It is because Fortune 500 organizations are using TOGAF to improve their business transformation and hence they need TOGAF training now.

TOGAF Training material Document Number: G116 is freely available from Open Group. One can read and understand it but cannot connect the dots to see the big picture. That is done accurately in Togaf Accredited training course (TATC). So get the four day training with a reputed TATC, digest the knowledge for 2-3 weeks’ time. Book the prometric centre using voucher supplied by TATC and write the test. 

You must plan to score more than 85% as merely passing will not give you enough self-esteem. If you follow TATC route it is achievable in normal course.
